King Tide is a conceptual branding project for a marine sports and apparel brand based in Charleston, SC.
King Tides are the highest tides occurring during the alignment of the earth, moon, and sun—high tides and flooding are pervasive in the low country, but there is added intensity during a king tide—which we thought made for a perfect marine-sports brand name.
The tide is formed into the shape of a king’s crown and the circle that encases the tide element represents the aforementioned alignment of elements working in tandem. Increasing color gradient signifies the rising tide.
